THAME Museum has received new, official Museum Accreditation from the Arts Council, which ensures high standards of managing collections effectively for the enjoyment and benefit of its users.
Reporting to Thame Town Council, Cllr David Laver said that the coming year was going to be a challenging one for the Trustees to keep the museum warm and to maintain high visitor numbers after a particularly good ?high? when hundreds of visitors came to see the special Robin Gibb exhibition last year.
?We are currently working on new areas in the museum, its collections and documents,” he added, “But we are always in need of more help from the town.?
The Museum, which is situated in the old Thame Magistrates Court buidling, has just undergone an annual inspection by the town council which found that window frames were in urgent need of repair and that there are signs of damp in the main exhibition room – all works that the museum aims to attend to during the next year.
