THAME’S largest mass participation sporting event, the Thame CPM 10km Road Race, is on Sunday, (June 29), when there will be 1000 runners pounding a course through the town centre to Towersey and back along the Phoenix Trail, starting at 9.30am from Thame Leisure Centre.

10k_1The race is full and so there will be NO ENTRIES ON RACE DAY. There will be road closure in place on the Oxford Road for five minutes from 9.30 to 9.35 am, and then on the ring road from the rugby club to Chinnor Road from 9.40 to 10.30 am.

Thame 10K has been running since 1985 and has grown to be one of the key sporting fixtures in Thame and is sponsored by CPM. The public’s support is very important for the runners, many of them taking part to raise money for charities and several local charities will benefit from the funds raised by the organisers.
