‘Dirty rocking blues’ and poetry

REGULARS to the First Thursday Music Club in Thame, particularly anyone who stays for the ‘graveyard shift’, will be very familiar with musician, songwriter and raconteur, Sir Walter J Wallis. But what they may not know is that Sir Walter is also a poet.

As well as recently releasing his latest album, UkedeliA (links to Soundcloud), available on Vinyl, CD & downloads, Sir Walter is about to shake the world of poetry (apparently) when he launches his first book of poems, described as ‘A collection of doodles from his many travels.

To launch his book of poetry, called Petty Cash, Sir Walter will be playing some of his music from the new album sprinkled in among the poems, at the legendary Vintage & Modern Guitar Shop in Thame, on Saturday, December 20, at 11 am.

For those who have yet to experience the mega-octaine, yet enigmatic phenomenon that is Sir Walter J Wallis, he describes his music as: “Dirty rockin’ blues served on a platter of carnage with an eclectic soundscape.” Or, as First Thursday Music Club MC, Phil Westerman put it so eloquently: “Think Seasick Steve, meets James Brown, meets Captin Beefheart.”
