CLASSICAL chart-topping guitarist, Craig Ogden, will be performing a charity concert at St Mary Magdalene Church, Shabbington, near Thame, on Sunday, December 13, in aid of the church.
Australian-born Craig is one of the most recorded artists of his generation and his latest album, Craig Ogden and Friends, went straight to No 1 in the Classical charts this summer.
Concert organiser, Paula Child, said: “Craig is known for giving really witty, enjoyable concerts and he’ll be playing something for everyone, from Bach to the Beatles, and from Django Reinhart to contemporary composers, Gary Ryan and Andrew York.” Tickets can be bought from www.jumblebee.co.uk/shabbingtontickets and cost £15.
Craig has performed with all the main UK orchestras and regularly appears as soloist and Chamber musician at major venues, including the Globe Theatre and Wigmore Hall. He collaborates with many of the UK’s top artists and ensembles.
This is the first concert of the Shabbington Music Series 2015-16 which aims to bring world class but accessible music out of the capital and into the heart of the village. Future concerts will feature the award-winning harpist, Eleanor Turner, and the exciting Heath Quartet.
