Cookware Shop To Replace Thame Furniture Store
A THAME furniture retailer is to retire next month, and has sold his shop in the High Street, to an up-market cookware company.
David Healey, who lives in Long Crendon and is a long-term member of the Thame Chamber of Commerce, has decided to retire after over 20 years in Thame and will close the doors of the shop for the last time on May 27.
The shop will be taken over by The Steamer Trading Cookware Company, whose head office is in Lewes, East Sussex.
The Steamer Company was founded in 1985 by Liz and David Phillips on the site of the former ?Steamer Inn? in Alfriston, Sussex – hence the name Steamer Trading. Today the business has grown to six stores across East Sussex and one recently opened in Kent.
Liz and David state on their website: http://www.steamer.co.uk – “Remaining a family-owned and run business is important to what we do best at Steamer Trading ? being passionate about what we sell and the customer service we offer. All of our stores offer a very different look ? we always seek out unusual buildings: from a Victorian railway station in Heathfield to a converted church hall in Brighton ? but the range of kitchenware that we offer, over 10,000 different items, represents the very best to be found in the world.”
