Free Children’s Fun Day (Contributed)
TICKETS are now up for grabs for Oxfordshire County Council?s massive summer party in the park for under-fives.
Last year more than 2,500 children and adults enjoyed a huge range of activities and entertainments including face painting, bouncy castles, fairground rides, music shows and footie sessions led by Oxford United coaches.
This year?s party takes place on Thursday 28 June between 10:00-3:00pm at Cutteslowe Park in Oxford.
How to get a ticket
The event is free and aims to celebrate the work of childcare, early education, play and health services provided for children and families in the county as part of National Sure Start Month.
Sure Start is the government?s programme to deliver the best start in life for every child by bringing together early education, childcare, health and family support.
Parents who want to get a ticket can call 08452 26 26 36 – booking is essential.
Fun day out
Cogges Manor Farm Museum will be there as will Reptiles R Us with their reptile show and the Island Donkey Sanctuary with their donkeys.
Children can visit the Oxfordshire Play Bus and sensory bus, check out the reading tent where library staff will be doing rhyme time sessions or join in the Caterpillar Music sessions.
There will also be a fire-engine, a police car and a chance to make peg dolls and collages.
The Early Learning Centre will be there as will Usbourne Books, who publish books for small children. And for the very young there will be baby massage classes.
Super Camps will run face-painting sessions and are providing bouncy castles and inflatable assault courses.
Goodie bags will also be handed out containing useful information for parents.
The county council?s Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families, Councillor Louise Chapman, said: ?This year?s event promises to be just as popular as ever and should be huge amount of fun.
?It is also about promoting the services available to children and families in Oxfordshire and recognising the work of the staff and organisations involved.?
