Should Thame reward unsung heroes?

THAME Town Council are to considering Civic Awards for the town’s unsung heroes.

The council says that there are many local people who give their time and energy freely for the benefit of the town, and will discuss whether to officially recognise and applaud such people, nominated by residents living within the Parish of Thame and Moreton, with commemorative certificates.

Councillors will discuss the proposal at the last full council meeting of the year, tomorrow evening, at 6.30pm in the Council Chamber.

The council will also discuss setting the Precept for 2009-2010, that is the amount of money awarded them from the Community Charge to spend on running the town.
