‘Miracle’ Thame accident victim home for a day
The recover of a young Thame man, who was kept in a coma for almost three weeks after being seriously injured in a car crash, has been described as ‘miraculous’ by his family.
Joe Robinson, who plays rugby for Chinnor RFC and cricket for Thame Cricket Club, was kept in intensive care during a medically-induced coma whilst doctors and his family waited to see whether he would recover enough to be able to breath by himself, and whether he would be able to communicate again.
Then, last weekend, he opened his eyes and tried to speak to those around him and since then, has slowly improved enough to be able to be taken out of intensive care.
On Saturday, Joe was allowed to go home for the day but today his relieved brother, Harry said: “Now, Joe is back in hospital recovering. He will need months of physiotherapy and rehabilitation but we are on the road to recovery.”
