Proud Thame students celebrate exam success
STUDENTS from Lord Williams’s school, Thame, had much to celebrate yesterday morning (27/08/09), following the release of their GCSE and Asdan results.
This year, 73% of students achieved five or more A* – C grades across all subjects. 75% of students achieved A* – C grades in English, and 69% in Mathematics and Science.
Headteacher, David Wybron, commented: “The results are again very good and across a very broad range of subjects and qualifications. Students have every reason to be proud of their achievements. I would like to congratulate all students on their successes and to thank staff for everything they have done to make this happen.”
The following students all gained at least eight passes at A* and A: Sam Abbott, Peter Austin, Alexandra Ballantine, Imogen Batten-Turner, Michael Beard, Katrina Buchanan, Helena Byrne Stevens, Kieran Calvert, Ross Calvert, Ben Carrington, Joe Chaplin, Antonia Cundy, Emerald Deak, Lawrence Drummond, Sarah Dyson, Rebecca Hussey, Robert Jackson, Megan McCarthy, Joshua Mears, Hanna Pickering, Amy Sandys, Charlotte Smith, Daniel Taylor-Abreu, Jake Wilson and Amelia Worley.
Students have also achieved highly on Asdan courses (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) at both Bronze and Silver levels.
Kelly Woodroffe achieved a distinction on the CoPE (Certificate of Personal Effectiveness) course as did the following students on the BTec Land and Environment course: Thomas Baker, Dan Bartlett, George Bryant, Ashley Bull, Josh Cheney, Sean Harding, James Massingham, Jake McMenamin and Martin Wiggins.
