Snow plough visits Thame schools 08/01/10
BARLEY HILL SCHOOl in Thame and Lord Williams’s school, were today due to have a very welcome visitor – a snow plough!
Oxfordshire County Council has decided to send snow ploughs to clear approaches and entrance ways at a number of targeted schools in the county in a bid to help them reopen on Monday.
The two schools are among a list that have been visited by snow ploughs today (or are due to be overnight) and highways staff are planning to get to further schools as resources permit, from Monday.
Schools targeted include those where a large number of pupils live within walking distance, and where site-specific access problems have been a key factor in their closure.
