Green Army descends on Thame Carnival
Players and parents from the club descended en-mass at the carnival on Saturday, with over 80 players dressed in their kits and with an array of green wigs and faces painted they really looked the part. With this year’s theme for the Carnival being Green and linking in with the Greening Thame campaign, the boys and girls donned green wigs and and green face paint as part of their entry Green Army,Green Mile.
The procession made its way along the High Steet very vocally to the call of ?GREEN ARMY? and carried a long banner with a football pitch painted on it symbolising the moving of the pitch from the old site at Windmill Road to the new facility at Meadow View Park, The Green Mile.
The TFP wishes to pass on many thanks to Carlo and Caron Abreu for arranging the float and the procession, K&A Scaffolding for the use of their lorry for the parade and also to the parents and players that took part.
Congratulations were also part of the day when the Green Army, Green Mile entry picked up the award of Best Motorised Float and Carlo was presented a trophy by Mayor, Adam Buckland and MP John Howell.
