15/11/10…….In defence of Thame’s cows

Dear Editor, On various occasions I have been puzzled about the disapproval of the cows outside Newitts. My wife and I think they’re charming. The fact that they’re large and realistic makes them even more agreeable.

I’m sure children must love them. We also like the pig that lost a bit at the end of its tail. Perhaps I should pay more attention to the deliberations of our town council – a body which our lovely town would be much worse without, by the way – but I wonder what the problem is: surely not ‘health and safety’. If not that what?
