THAMES Valley Police is appealing for information after a 14-year-old girl was assaulted in Thame on Monday, February, 28.

The girl was walking along the alleyway that runs from the Cattle Market car park towards Barley Hill School and into the Lee Park housing estate, shortly after 9pm when the incident happened.

As she walked into the alleyway, she saw a man standing at the entrance, who started following her after she walked past him.

The girl was aware that he was getting closer to her, so decided to run to the end of the alleyway, where she started walking again and took a phone call from her mother.

However, after ending the phone call she turned around and realised the man who had been following her in the alley was behind her again.

The man grabbed her arm and refused to let go of the girl when she shouted at him. The girl eventually managed to break free and ran off along Charles Street and in Ludlow Drive where she was met by her mother and taken home.

The man is described as having dark skin, but not black, in his mid-twenties, 5ft 8ins, and medium build. He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up, dark-coloured jeans, black gloves and black Nike trainers.

PC Sarah Phillips said: ?I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of the incident who saw or heard anything, or anyone who may have seen this man around the town.

?I would urge anyone with information to come forward and speak to me as soon as possible.?

Anyone with information should contact PC Phillips via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
