ANNETTE Bening and Julianne Moore play Nic and Jules a cultured gay couple in LA. Back in the 90?s both had children by artificial insemination. Before heading off to college one of the kids decides to discover the identity of her sperm donor father.

This may fairly be described as an intelligent comedy about the post modern family. And about the consequences of decisions made without careful consideration.
