24/01/12….Transition Towns – Calender events for Haddenham In Transition
THURSDAY 26th January – Jan Talk; The Future of Farming, at the Rose and Thistle in Haddenham on at 8pm. People often feel that highly productive and efficient farming doesn?t leave allot of space for the friendly wildlife that we fondly associate with the countryside. It takes a complex and type of farm management to combine both aspects of good countryside custodianship. But this has been achieved locally on the 5700-acre Waddesdon Estate.
Alistair Brookes the farm manager at Waddesdon will explain how the estate combines modern productive farming with a high level of wildlife conservation. Making conservation part of normal farming practice helps to improve and extend wildlife habitats, improve opportunities for countryside enjoyment and create new wildlife habitats and landscape features.
Tuesday 31st January. Support Aylesbury Vale?s Environment (SAVE) is pleased to invite you to a free Climate Reality Presentation at the Oculus, Aylesbury, from 6.30pm.
Climate change is not one person?s fault for the car they drive, the lights they turn on, or the food they eat. The climate crisis is our problem. Real solutions, systemic solutions, innovative solutions, can only come when we address it together. That?s what The Climate Reality Project will do. Without doubt. Without delay. And with your help.
If you are interested in learning more about the science of climate change, discovering the truth and taking meaningful steps to bring about change please come along to the Climate Reality Project presentation ? at the Oculus, AVDC offices at Gatehouse Road, Aylesbury, HP19 8FF. Light refreshments will be provided. To book your place please email: save_environment1@yahoo.co.uk
