05/04/2012….Thame school pond rescued by local builder
LOCAL house builder, David Wilson Homes Southern, has come to the rescue of John Hampden School in Thame.
The school’s pond and bog garden had become overgrown and was in need of repair so the housebuilder sent in a team of their landscapers to help out.
As part of the re-vamp project, the pupils from the school?s Eco Action team were invited to submit their ideas for their ideal pond, all of which were taken into account by the landscapers who completed the project last week.
Paul Moran, Sales Director for David Wilson Homes Southern commented: ?I am delighted that David Wilson Homes has been able to help John Hampden School with the pond re-vamp. Our staff have worked hard to ensure the pupils got what they asked for while safety and practical measures were taken on board. Fish and frogs have been introduced and now spring is on the way, it will be an ideal time for the pupils to enjoy their new pond.?
Tina Baxter from John Hampden School PTA added: ?It?s been fantastic to get this support from David Wilson Homes as the pond may have gone into disrepair had they not stepped in to help. The final result is great and the pupils are thrilled. I know they are going to get a lot of enjoyment out of it, especially now the warmer weather is on its way.?
