19/06/12…..Thame doctors will not join strike action
THAME doctors, based at the Rycote Practice in East Street, will not be taking part in the the first doctors’ day of action in almost 40 years, over their pensions.
In a statement today, the Practice Manager at the Rycote Practice, Karl Savage, told Thamenews.net: “Whilst the Rycote Practice supports the BMA position in respect of pension changes, we are keen to ensure that patient care is not disrupted as a result. Our doctors will not therefore be striking on Thursday, June 21, and we will remain open all day for a normal surgery.”
Doctors across the country who will be taking part in the industrial action on Thursday, will continue to provide all urgent and emergency care during any industrial action, but will postpone non-urgent work such as outpatient appointments.
