26/07/13…’Country roots ‘ 1950s style to rock Thame music night
AFTER a stunning debut, some time in the studio working on the new album and some very successful promotional gigs, the fabulous Hiway 51 returns to FTMC on Thursday, August 1, taking the 10 o?clock feature spot.
The band was formed in late 2012 with personnel comprising of three like-minded musicians with a desire to recreate a stripped down ‘country roots’ 1950s era music. Upright Bass player Ingmar Paul met Vintage & Modern Guitars, Thame, shop owner, Phil Carwardine, (Gretsch Guitar) during a routine visit and introduced ‘The Daytonas’ front man, Paul Barker on vocals and guitar to complete the trio.
First Thursday Music Club has become the regular monthly music event in Thame ? and it?s FREE! A typical night includes around a dozen different acts ranging from singer song writers through to full bands.
So, round up some friends, get along, and have a great night out. Anyone can play just by signing up at the venue from 7.45pm. The music starts at 8.15pm.
