Looking for some holiday reading? Look no further…
THIS week, the window of Thame’s Oxfam Bookshop, is overflowing with recommendations for holiday reading from the shop’s volunteer force.
The shop’s Manager, Dick Jennens, explains:
“Appearing in our window this Thursday will be a selection of books and music that have amused, excited, informed, been enjoyed by, tantalised, intrigued, impressed, amazed, annoyed, aroused or impelled our volunteers.
“We hope our selection will encourage you to explore our selection available in-store and lead you to new horizons with your reading and listening, and help occupy the long days of summer.
“From Jacques Loussier?s sublime rendition of J.S. Bach to Roald Dahl?s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to the dark days of World War 2 with Nicholas Monsarrat and his Cruel Sea.
“From Scandinavian crime to Hercule Poirot by way of 50 Shades of Grey [well, we had to include that one] and on the Phillipa Gregory and her White Queen.
“Visit the shop and our every changing range of over nine thousand books and music items.”
