25/01/13……Hold the bins! They may be emptied tomorrow

AFTER telling people to take unemptied bins in after three days, SODC has now said that Biffa, its Waste collection contractor, well attempt to get to some households tomorrow.

In a statement on its website, South Oxfordshire District Council states: “Due to the roads being unsafe for large waste vehicles, we have been unable to successfully empty a number of bins this week. We are sending some waste crews out on Saturday morning to attempt to catch up some of the missed collections. If your bin wasn’t emptied this week, please leave it at the roadside tomorrow.

“Unfortunately, due to the number of areas crews were unable to get to, it is unlikely that Biffa will be able to make it to everybody tomorrow. If your recycling bin doesn’t get emptied tomorrow, please bring it back in and we will collect it on your next recycling day (week commencing 4 February) – any excess recycling that won’t fit in the bin can be left out in a bag or container next to your recycling bin.”
