11/12/12…..When alcohol was distilled by ‘the worm’ – great find for Thame book shop

THAME’S Oxfam book shop has announced a great find today, the discovery of the oldest book they can remember offering for sale in the shop, and at Christmas a particularly suitable find!

A 1653 copy of ‘The Art of Distillation’- to which has been added: ‘The London Distiller’ 1652. The book contains the first written reference to the ‘Worm’ as a method of distilling alcohol.
