25/07/12…Develop your career or just give back
Do you enjoy life? Living with dementia and other mental health needs can make it hard for sufferers and their carers to lead stimulating and fulfilling lives. You can help elderly people in Thame to have as much fun as you do by volunteering at the Dovecote Day Centre.
Come and help with lunch, outings, making tea or just doing jigsaw puzzles. Or see if you can beat our experts at beanbag targets. Our members may be a little forgetful at times, but they still appreciate a chat, a good game of dominoes and Chubby Checker?s ?Let?s Twist Again?!
No experience is necessary, just a sense of humour and a calm, caring nature.
This role would be great for anyone looking to work or study mental health nursing or social care, young people wanting to improve their CV or anyone just wanting to give back to the community. We also provide out of pocket expenses and a free lunch. Help would be appreciated for as long or as short as you are able to give it.
The Dovecote Day Centre meets on Wednesdays and Fridays at the Thame Barns Centre from 10 till 2. For more information contact Vanessa Moir at: dovecote@ageukoxfordshire.org.uk, or on 07827235425.
