ALL the ingredients for a fantastic Towersey Festival are coming together, with only two days to go, and this year, some of the Thame Food Festival regulars, including Sally Dickinson of What’s Cooking and Lotte Duncan of Lotte’s Kitchen, have gathered up some like-minded growers and producers to bring their finest fresh fruit and vegetables, great local cheeses as well as bread, pies, cakes and more to festival-goers camping out at the event.
If you’re planning to escape to the unique experience that is the 49th Towersey Festival this week – August 22 to 26, you can really lose yourself in what’s been described as: “another, lovelier world”.
This year’s event is set to outshine all that have gone before, with the best music to listen to, dance to and sing to; amazing street art to admire and craft fairs to browse; wall to wall children’s activities and village walks and, of course, a wide variety of foods from around the world to tuck into.
As well as some great produce from a close to home, there’ll be some cracking real ales from The Vale Brewery (who incidentally are about to reveal the winner of the competition to name a special beer being brewed for the Thame Food Festival – watch this space), promising to bring a very special, first ever daily local produce market to the event.
