20/08/13 Day Centre goes to market
THAME and District Day Centre was one of the local community groups that ran a stall at the Thame Market Community Charity Fun Day today, and met the Mayor and the visiting Town Crier.
The Day Centre’s Manager, Gill Coleman and Centre volunteer, Pat Draper (pictured) gave out leaflets explaining the work of the Centre, and handed out lolly prizes to children taking part in a lucky dip.
Gill said: “We met lots of other charities and some very happy children – a very worthwhile day!”
The Day Centre, an independent local charity, which meets on three days a week at Thame Community Hospital, is open for 50 weeks of the year and provides a day out with a hot meal, entertainments and plentiful refreshments for people from our town and some nearby areas, who are elderly, frail or, perhaps, isolated. All donations received are spent on the services it provides to members.
