THE winner of the Thame ‘name that beer’ competition had the honour of pouring the very first pint of the brew he christened ‘Thame’in of the brew’, at The Vale Brewery’s open day.

Jim Crews, a real ale fan from Shabbington near Thame, came up with his original suggestion in response to a competition organised by The Vale Brewery Company in Brill, to name its beer of the month for September, a brew that will also be on tap at this year’s Thame Food Festival.

Jim proudly poured the first pint at the Vale Brewery Open Day on Saturday, September 7, attended by the Mayor or Thame, Peter Lambert, who runs the Thame Micro brewery at The Cross Keys pub in Thame.
