Midsomer Murder opportunities for businesses
MIDSOMER Murders is fast becoming a major visitor attraction in South Oxfordshire. This year businesses, including hotels, B&Bs and tour operators across the district have reported a huge increase in ‘Midsomer’ guests. Visitors to the website have also doubled and demand for ‘Midsomer’ books and leaflets has escalated.
Thame Henley and Wallingford are among the places featured as the fictitious ‘Causton’, and Dorchester, Warborough and The Haseleys are just a few of the villages chosen as locations for gruesome murders and outlandish plots.
The show’s long running success has opened up opportunities for restaurants, attractions, market towns, pubs, bus companies, museums, TICs, hotels, B&Bs and other entrepreneurs to gain more business.
Businesses in the Vale and South Oxfordshire are being invited to a free workshop next Thursday, September 26, between 2.00-4.30pm, to find out how they can use ‘Midsomer’ to help their businesses grow. Contact Alice.O’Leary@southandvale.gov.uk for more information.
