Funding opportunities for community organisations
COMMUNITY Organisations in South Oxfordshire have the chance to apply for up to £15,000 to fund community projects like improvements to buildings or new equipment, through the district council’s Community Investment Fund. The council is offering the grants to community-based organisations, including parish and town councils, over two rounds, and this second round commenced on October 1. Organisations are encouraged to apply for a share of just under £218,000 to fund their projects.
Projects the council has helped to fund through the scheme in the last round include improvements to Garsington Sport and Social Club, installing a climbing wall at 1st Goring Scout Hut, and play area equipment in Moulsford amongst others.
The funding is available for capital projects such as building work, new facilities and equipment but cannot be used for revenue costs such as running costs, repairs or maintenance.
The council is encouraging anyone with a project in mind to attend a pre-application workshop which offers advice to those applying to the scheme. The workshop will be held at the council’s offices in Crowmarsh Gifford on the evening of November 7.
