Man Threatened With Knife In Road Rage Attack
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened with a knife and forced to drive his car towards Waterstock, Oxfordshire, today (1/11).
At around 5.45am the 20-year-old man was travelling along the A40 from Headington when he drove his yellow Rover MGZR into a lay-by near Forest Hill. As he stopped a man got into the car with a knife and ordered him to drive.
The man forced the driver to turn off at the Thame junction and head towards Tiddington. When they reached the village he then ordered him to turn around and drive towards Waterstock. At the entrance to Waterstock village, off the A418, the driver was forced out of the car where the offender put a T-Shirt in the entry of the fuel tank and set it alight. The offender then ran away into a waiting car which had pulled up behind them.
The man has a dark complexion, is around 6ft, of large build, with a moustache, stubble and black short hair. He was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
PC Steve Anderson, based at Thame police station, said: ?This was a very frightening incident that the driver went through.
?I appeal to anyone who may have witnessed two men in a Rover with the word ?racing? in black along both sides of the car, driving erratically, or knows who was involved in the incident to please contact police.?
