RECENTLY elected Thame County Councillor, Nick Carter, has thanked local people for voting for him.
In a letter to ThameNews.Net recently, Cllr Carter wrote:
“David Wilmshurst and I would like to record our thanks to the thousands of people who elected us as the new County Councillors for Thame & Chinnor, in
the recent County elections.

“During the next four years, we will work hard on behalf of all residents and we hope to live up to everyone’s expectations.

“Nearly two-thirds (65%) of the electors in Thame & Chinnor turned out to vote at the election, and the Conservative candidates achieved over 40% of
the vote in this newly combined division.

“It was remarkable to see long queues at one or two polling stations as people patiently waited in the sunshine for their turn to vote.

“After two decades when no party has had overall control at the County Council, Oxfordshire’s voters have now given their wholehearted approval
to Conservative policies. With a clear majority on the Council, we will soon see the benefits of this starting to come through.

“This was a significant election result as we move towards important developments such as the plans for a new library in Thame. Thanks for placing your faith in us; we will ensure we rise to the challenge that
you have set us.”
