EXCITEMENT is growing for Thame’s Small Business Saturday event, planned for December 6, in the town centre, and the organisers have come up with an innovative idea to avoid having to leave the car parked for any length time, and collect your Christmas shopping from one collection point later.
So, if you would like to stroll or cycle into town on December 6, and enjoy the day’s entertainments and explore the independent shops that are offering all sort of seasonal goodies to make Christmas shopping in Thame fun, take your purchases along to Racquets Fitness Centre in the Cattlemarket, North Street, collect a ticket and then return later to load the car with your purchases. Racquets will take care of your shopping bags and a helpful member of Racquets’ staff will be on hand to help you load up the car.
More and more Thame shops have announced their special offers and treat, including the shops in Swan Walk, in the Upper High Street. Here’s what they’ve got planned:
My Sweet Art Creations, Ella Jane Gifts, Sew Patchwork and Pearsons Insurance Services will be joining forces and sending out a band of drama students to walk through the town dressed up, to promote the shops in Swan walk, Thame. They will be distributing Shopping leaflets and sweets throughout the town during Small Business Saturday as their way of encouraging people to shop more locally.
Ella Jane Gifts will be handing out Cow pat cookies, Pearson’s Insurance will be giving our Sweetie milk bottles as well as something for the grown-ups and My Sweet Art Creations will be running a ‘Find the Golden Ticket’ competition. These special tickets will be hidden in one of their lucky bags available to purchase and there will be a special prize for the winner. Sew Patchwork too will be taking part in the day’s fun in Swan Walk.

I’m sure there would be no problem with that Cheryl. Could you please drop one of the leaflets you will be distributing, either into me at Thame.Net, Jordans Courtyard, 8 Upper High Street, Thame (white gates to the right of Rumsey’s, black post box on the wall on the left as you go into the courtyard past the cow ! OR to Racquets Fitness Centre, North Street, Thame (back of the cattlemarket) sometime before Saturday. Many thanks.
Dear Thame.Net.
I run a small business from my home in Thame and wondered if it would be okay to hand out some leaflets on Saturday.
Many thanks
