A ‘truly staggering’ £14,000 has been raised by this year’s Towersey Fete, held in warm sunshine, on June 21, following a record gate of 1,300 visitors – and that was just the adults!
The majority of the money raised will go towards the £150,000 needed to repair the rapidly deteriorating stonework of Towersey’s church. Another 10% of the proceeds will be distributed later in the year to various village organisations.
The fete was held in the magnificent gardens of Towersey Manor, hosted by David and Pussy Barnett.
