OXFORDSHIRE County Council is considering making cuts to free transport for pupils attending faith schools in the county.
As a cost cutting excercise, the council proposes ending free travel to faith schools, including St Joseph’s in Thame, for pupils who live outside the catchment area of their school or who travel more than two (up to the age of 8 years) or three (for older children) miles to school and do not attend their nearest school.
A consultation excercise is currently being carried out by the county council and if it decides to go ahead, the changes will take effect from 2007.

To take part in this consultation, visit the Consultation Tracker on the ?Feedback On-Line? pages of the County Council’s web site www.oxfordshire.gov.uk.
The closing date for responses is March 8. For more information, contact Jo Edge on 01865 810616 or email her at jo.edge@oxfordshire.gov.uk.
