Eyes to the sky as Thame remembers the fallen
HUNDREDS of people gathered around Thame’s Memorial Garden on Sunday, to commemorate the dead of two world wars and conflicts ever since.
Town councillors, lead by the Mayor, Nichola Dixon, County and District Councillors, representatives of all the uniformed services, cadets, Guides, Brownies, Scouts, Cubs and other town-wide community organisations, and Thame’s MP, John Howell, all processed from Thame town hall to the War Memorial for the annual Service of Remembrance.
During the service, three helicopters flew low over the scene, a reminder that our armed forces are still needed in an uncertain world, to be vigilant and ready to do their duty and risk their lives, if called upon to do so.
