CHINNOR & THAME FRIENDS OF THE EARTH ? PUBLIC MEETING AND AGM ? 30 MARCH 2006, CHINNOR VILLAGE CENTRE
Friends of the Earth?s invited speaker will address the very important issue of heating our homes and our own energy supply, in the light of rising gas and electricity bills. The talk will focus on new developments locally and what can be done about existing homes.
The talk, entitled ?RENEWABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS?, will follow Chinnor and Thame FoE?s short AGM, on Thursday 30th March at the Chinnor Village Centre, 7.30 ? 9.30pm. Ian Bacon, who works with a group called Thames Valley Energy, will give the talk.
TV Energy works closely with local councils, seeking energy solutions for new and existing developments.
Quote: ?World-wide we are experiencing the first dramatic changes to our climate caused in part by overdependence on fossil fuels. Production of oil and gas is peaking as supply is exhausted yet demand continues to grow unabated. As a result we see fossil fuel energy prices spiralling upwards. Given the many geopolitical disruptions in supplier countries, we face increasing security risks of energy supply in the UK. Making the change now to the increased use of locally derived renewable energy offers the best long term solution to protect our communities and our businesses, generating jobs and new enterprises in tune with the environment.?
Keith Richards, TV Energy.
This is an open meeting to which we invite all members of the public.
Entrance is free. Light refreshments provided.
