OXFORDSHIRE pupils are being invited to nominate their peers for a Learning Matters award. in recognition of their achievements at school.
Young people aged 11-16 can single out a friend who has gone the extra mile and made a difference.
They may have inspired someone to improve their grades or supported a friend to double their efforts in a subject they find difficult.

Pupils have until Friday, June 16, to make their nominations and are asked to tell their story in fifty words or less, either by e-mail to learningmatters@oxfordshire.gov.uk or using the Learning Matters postcards being sent to schools or online at the Fox FM website: www.foxfm.co.uk.

Schools and childcare settings that have supported young people in innovative ways can also nominate themselves for an award in the following categories:

o Be healthy
o Stay safe
o Enjoy and achieve
o Make a positive contribution
o Achieve economic well-being

The awards are the finale of the first year of the county council?s Learning Matters campaign that aims to drive up school standards, particularly at GCSE, by involving the whole community.

They are supported by Fox FM and a prize-winning ceremony hosted by Fox Select?s Roop and Tom ? two people who know what success at school can lead to ? will be held in July.

Both DJs recently graduated from university and were immediately given their own show on Fox FM.
