Appeal Over Recovered Stolen Property
THE Police have recovered property from a flat in Littlemore which they believe to be stolen and are now appealing to the public throughout Oxfordshire for help in tracing the original owners.
On Thursday, July 6, police searched the address after three people were arrested on suspicion of burglary in Oxford on Tuesday 4 July.
Seized from the address were a number of toolboxes, power tools, archery equipment, a guitar, jewellery and watches and an empty safe.
Police believe the items could all have come from break-ins to houses or sheds in the Oxfordshire area and are now appealing for any victims who believe the property could be theirs to get in touch.
Det Con Charles Boshell, of Abingdon CID, said: ?We undertook the search at this address following the arrest of three people who have subsequently been charged with a number of burglary offences committed across Oxfordshire.
?The items seized are both in excellent condition and in some cases quite unusual so I am hopeful that someone will recognise the property.
?It may be that some of these items have been stolen from sheds or outbuildings and the victims have not realised they are missing, or it may be that people have simply not reported the original crime.
?We need to trace the owners both to return this property and also to ascertain if there have been any further crimes and if there is any other information which could help our investigation.?
Anyone with information can contact Det Con Boshell at Abingdon police station via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
If you do not want to speak to police and do not want to leave your name you can contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
