Thame Post Boxes To Be Relocated
TWO Thame post boxes, including one removed because of vandalism, are to be relocated.
The post box in Park Street, currently situated in front of the recently-closed Post Office, is to be moved to a position on the pavement, outside the Sainsbury store further up the road.
The move is to be made at the request of the new owners of the old post office at 26 Park Street, who intend to use the building as a residence.
The post box in Wellington Street, removed some months ago after it was vandalised, is to be replaced at the request of residents in the area. Its location will be on the grass verge to the left of its previous position.
Thame Town Council has approved the changes, with the proviso that the Park Street box be of the same style as the existing one, and that the Wellingston Street box be of adequate size and with a wide enough aperture to accommodate the post of local businesses as well as local residents.
The time scale for both post boxes is four to five months.
