THAMES Valley and Hampshire’s Joint Roads Policing Unit have begun a week of activity specifically targeting drivers using hand-held mobile phones, with the aim of drawing attention to the risks posed by being distracted while in control of a vehicle.
The enforcement activity will run until Sunday, January 28, 2018, in line with the National Police Chief Council’s campaign. On motorways in the area today, 16 drivers were caught using hand-held mobile phones.
