LEAD thefts are on the increase across our local policing area.
Could you please pay extra attention to properties in your area, particularly schools, churches and businesses, especially those which appear to have easy roof access, as they are the most vulnerable to the current crime trend of lead thefts.
With many schools now on a two week break, this could be an added incentive for potential offenders.

It is quite likely that any prospective thieves will conduct some sort of survey prior to committing the offence.

Please be extra vigilant and if you see any suspicious people or vehicles in the area or discover the theft of lead from anywhere, please call the police on 08458 505 505, or 999 for crimes in progress. If possible, try to obtain any vehicle index numbers and descriptions of persons seen, but DO NOT put yourself at any risk.
