Neighbourhood update for the Thame area (Status: Press release)
THIS is the latest neighbourhood update, provided by Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Diane Greenwood:
On 23 April, licensees in Thame officially launched the Pubwatch scheme in town. The meeting was attended by an overwhelming majority of pub and off licence staff and landlords from Thame. PC Hounslow and South Oxfordshire District Council Licensing Department also attended the meeting which was held at the Six Bells Pub in the town. The aim of Pubwatch is to fight alcohol fuelled violence in the town. It works by having a ring around system to alert each other of any potential problems and prevent groups or individuals trouble makers from entering other premises.
PCSOs Jackson and Tucker have recently done a post coding event at Lord Williams School over two days which went down really well with many items being marked. The next school to have a visit from our local PCSOs will be John Hampden on Tuesday 20 May.
There will also be a PCSO surgery on 10 May at Thame Town Hall. This is where residents are encouraged to come and speak to us about any issues of concern they might have within the community.
