Damaged trees and human waste found at Travellers’ site
IT emerged today that the Travellers who camped illegally on a Thame recreation area over the week-end left much more than the 10 black sacks originally reported by a town councillor.
When town council workmen went to the Southern Road recreation area in Thame yesterday to collect the rubbish, which the Travellers had told police they would take with them, it was discovered that the trespassers had damaged trees and left human excrement in the area.
A town council spokesperson today praised council workmen for the great committment they had shown to their work, in carrying out, what was “an extremely unpleasant job” that others had backed off from doing.
