THE M40 motorway has now reopened (11am, 10/06/09)following a serious tanker fire near Stokenchurch, between junctions five and six late last night.

Eight fire crews, including two from Thame, fought for over three hours to bring the blazing tanker, carrying 30,000 litres of fuel, under control.

Two lanes of the motorway were closed while water and fuel on the carriageway was dealt with.
