Report potholes to council
OXFORDSHIRE County Council is appealing to the public to help them identify where potholes are on the county’s roads, so that they can fix them.
The council has stated that, while repair efforts are being stepped up across the county, the quickest way for Highways staff to respond to problems is for people to report serious road defects by calling Oxfordshire Highways’ dedicated hotline: 0845 310 1111.
Repair teams aim to respond to reports of the most serious road damage within a day of receiving a call from the public.
Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport Rodney Rose said: “We’re doing the best we can to get round to all the locations where defects have been identified, but unfortunately we can’t have eyes everywhere at once and need the public to let us know when they have spotted a dangerous pothole.
“We will always try to respond as soon as possible but common sense dictates that we must deal with as a priority those potholes which pose the greatest risk to motorists and I’m sure people will understand this.”

Councillor Rose added: “We share in motorists’ frustration. No one wants to see our roads littered with potholes – least of all our dedicated staff who are working long hours to tackle the problem.
“In the meantime I would urge the public to help us get the job done as quickly as possible by calling 0845 310 1111.”
