THAMES VALLEY POLICE AUTHORITY REGOGNISES FORCE’S EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE IN 2009/10
THAMES Valley Police Authority has recognised some of the Force’s excellent achievements over the last financial year in its latest quarterly report.
The report into Thames Valley Police’s performance in meeting their objectives in the 2009/2010 delivery plan, outlines the Forces performance in a number of categories including strengthening neighbourhood policing, developing partnerships and improving the service to victims, witnesses and the public.
The report shows that the Force has met its target to improve public confidence issues, with two thirds of people who responded to the Thames Valley Police Public Confidence Survey agreeing that police and local councils are dealing with anti-social behaviour and local crime issues.
Over 84 per cent of victims of crime are satisfied by the overall service provided by Thames Valley Police.
The Force has exceeded its target of reducing the level of Serious Acquisitive Crime (burglary, vehicle crime and robbery) by two per cent, reducing it by 8.5 per cent, which means over 3,000 fewer victims in Thames Valley.
Overall, crime dropped by 5.3 per cent, more than 10,000 fewer offences than in 2008/2009, from 195,530 to 185,223.
