06/05/10…Toddler of Thame teacher killed in crash dies
THE toddler son of a Thame teacher killed in a head-on crash four months ago, has died.
Ellie Bongers, who taught at Lord Williams’s school in Thame, died of her injuries on Christmas Eve. She was 32 years-old.
The accident happened on December 20, 2009, at Tackley, near Oxford. 19 month-old Joseph was critically injured in the crash but died in his father’s arms in the Hospice that was caring for him on Wednesday, May 4. Richard, Ellie Bongers’ husband, was also in the car but survived.
A 71-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the crash. She was subsequently released on police bail until June 3.
The collision between the Bongers’ Ford Ka and a Renault Clio happened on the A4260 between Kidlington and Deddington at about 1620 GMT.
