A THAME university student is currently on her way from John O’Groats to Lands End in memory of her companion’s sister and to raise money for the charities that supported her.

Former Lord Williams School pupil, 20 year-old Rose Osborne, has just finished her first years study at Bath University, and started on the 17 day cycle ride from the most southern part of Britain on Monday, June 21, and plans to arrive in John O’Groats,
the most North Easterly point in Britain, on Wednesday, July 7, with her friend and
peer, James Dunsmore. Rose is a member of High Wycombe Cycling Club.

Rose is completing the ride with James in memory of his sister, Annalise Dunsmore. Annalise passed away aged 15, last October just after they had started University. The money they raise during this challenge is to support three charities that supported Annalise so much during her short life.

Annalise so wanted to see James at University, and she managed to visit him the weekend before she passed away.

The three charities that helped Annalise so much are :-

GOSH – Great Ormond Street Hospital, where Annalise had many appointments and operations together with a six month stay in their specialist unit MCU.

HCPT Handicapped Children’s Pilgrimage Trust, who took Annalise on a Pilgrimage to Lourdes, France. This was the first chance for her to go on holiday in a long time, and on her own made her feel more self
-sufficient. She had an amazing time while she was out there and made many wonderful friends.

DiamondRC – Diamond Riding Centre where Annalise was allowed her to be herself. She loved to ride and they let her do just that. They cater for many people with disabilities allowing them all to ride, to
what ever standard they can. They then try to improve this standard like in any classes, but taking into account their disability.

Anyone wanting to help Rose and James reach their target can donate through the Just Giving website http://www.justgiving.com and search for the name Annalise Dunsmore then select the Charity you wish to
support to make your donation to.
