THE police officer in charge of the investigation into the murder of a Thame hotel employee, has asked that his family now be left if peace to mourn him.

Det Ch Insp Steve Tolmie, said this afternoon: ?I am aware that there has been some speculation surrounding the circumstances of Mr Varian?s death in the local media.

?Thames Valley Police can confirm that Mr Varian died as a result of decapitation.

?This was a horrific and callous murder and I would request that Mr Varian?s family are now given the privacy they deserve to mourn their loved one.?

Jonathan Limani, 33, has been charged with murder and remanded to provisionally appear at Oxford Crown Court on October 22.
