24/09/10…Anti-social behaviour bucks the national trend in Thame
FOLLOWING the news that a national report released yesterday (23/9) shows that Thames Valley Police is performing above the national average in tackling anti-social behaviour, the latest figures for Thame show that our town in particular is bucking the national trend.
Inspector Martin Ford, based at Thame, told ThameNews.Net today: “Thame has experienced a 27% reduction in the number of reported anti-social behaviour incidents. This compares with a reduction of 25% overall for South Oxfordshire.
He continued: ?Thames Valley Police is committed to tackling anti-social behaviour. We work in partnership to tackle a range of issues at the earliest possible stage using a range of suitable and proprotionate interventions.
“Locally the Neighbourhood policing team, led by Sergeant Steve Hookham, take a police lead on dealing with anti-social and nuisance behaviour. I would encourage any member of the public to make contact with the team on the non-emergency number 08458 505 505 to discuss any problems or attend one of the monthly Have Your Say meetings.?
