10/01/11…. Invitation from Thame Youth Theatre

Dear All, As you know, Thame Youth Theatre is a growing and ever-developing organisation. We currently have just short of 100 members on our books and a waiting list of keen youngsters wanting to join us. In August last year we produced a summer project of the Musical Hairspray, with 70 children involved coming along for a week’s worth of intensive workshops/rehearsals building towards a final performance, for which we sold out and had an excellent response. The youth theatre has been running for 21 years now, providing weekly (termtime) sessions for young people and end of term performances, as well as summer projects and work with other local community groups.

Thame Youth Theatre’s success has been built upon the strengths and support from its staff and committee, who assist with fundraising, organisation, and planning of events throughout the year. We greatly rely upon extra voluntary assistance to support our paid staff, who work part time. However, without enough of this support, there simply isn’t enough time or people to carry out all the tasks needed, in particular obtaining funding for the organisation. Sadly, despite the development and success of Thame Youth Theatre, this could cause the organisation to struggle dangerously. Any time that can be dedicated towards helping the youth theatre would be a massive help and we would greatly welcome you on board!

We are particularly interested (although not limited to) in anyone with any of the following skills: arts management, PR & marketing, fundraising, admin, secretarial (i.e. taking minutes), or simply a keen interest in Thame Youth Theatre, it’s continued success and our members.
