Manager vacancy – Thame Senior Friendship Centre
THE Thame Senior Friendship Centre, (formerly known as the Thame & District Day Centre) is looking to recruit a new Manager.
The Centre has been in existence since 1986 and its aim is to support the elderly community of Thame and surrounding villages. Based at the Cricket Pavilion behind the Barns Centre, the Centre is open for members on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday each week from 9am to 3pm. Key Responsibilities of the role are:
To manage the day to day operation of the Centre ensuring high standards are met for members and visitors. It is essential to work collaboratively ensuring the physical and emotional care of the members.
To provide a caring, sociable and flexible environment to meet the needs of individual members whilst liaising with and supporting their families and/or carers.
To promote high standards based on up to date national guidance in relation to care of the elderly, including some knowledge of dementia care.
To work with the Deputy Manager and Trustees to further the aims and objectives of the Centre and provision of support within the community of Thame.
It will be necessary to build effective working relationships with the local council, Oxfordshire County Council, South Oxfordshire District Council and other local organisations responsible for care of the elderly in the community.
The Centre is not currently open due to Covid-19 restrictions, but it is envisaged that it will re-open later in the year, but support for our Members is continuing remotely.
